Site linking Repeaters
Where a repeater does not give the required coverage or where two sites are geographically separated two or more repeaters can be linked together via the internet; IP Site linking.
Advantage can be taken of this facility in two ways.
-
100% radio coverage for awkward sites for example long or very large factories where a single repeater is not enough.
- Instant Communication between sites in different Counties, Countries or even Continents.
The IP link refers to the fact that at one site the voice traffic radio signal is converted to data using internet protocol and sent via the internet to the other site where it is converted back into a radio signal and received by radios there.
IP linking is the best way of having instant voice communication between two locations otherwise out of radio range.
